The Space:
Usually a home office occupies the smallest room in one’s house. With this in mind, we’ve come up with a few tricks to make your room feel bigger. Of course, being House of Mirrors, we know that when you add a large mirror to a wall area it immediately opens up your workspace to feel bigger. But not all mirrors are made the same! For a vintage look, we create antique-style mirrors. These can be cut to any wall size, but are designed to feel like an authentic piece you found in an antique store.
The Ambience:
Daylight is great, but we can’t always get it, especially in Calgary. One of the hardest things to do as a freelancer can be to start your workday at home in the dark. You’d rather just stay in bed at that point, right? What you can do to foster your motivation first thing in the morning is change a couple things about your workspace to create a ‘cozier’ atmosphere. For the darkest corners of your office space, find ways to add light. We recommend adding light fixtures to low-to-the-ground areas. You’ll find it has a positive effect on your energy as it no longer feels like you’re sitting in a dark room. High or dim light fixtures tend to make a room feel dark. To take your low-to-the-ground lighting to the next level, replace your surfaces with one of our glass tables. That way the light has even more opportunity to spread around your room.

Then it’s time to add your own creative spark to your office! We love reinventing decorations for practical uses. One example of this is using our back-painted glass pieces as a whiteboard.
