One thing we love most about the products we sell at Calgary’s House of Mirrors and Glass is that they tend to be so incredibly durable. In fact, there are a lot of homeowners and professional designers who are still displaying pieces they bought from us when we first opened, more than 20 years ago.
But, even though it ages very slowly, glass can become worn and damaged over time. When it does, a simple and affordable replacement is often your best choice. That’s particularly true when it comes to glass countertops, which don’t cost a lot of money but can make a whole room seem brand new once they are gleaming again.
With that in mind, here are three quick signs it’s time to replace your glass countertops:
They have deep, visible scratches. As beautiful as glass countertops are, once they become excessively scratched, they lose some of their luster. That’s because the scratches themselves don’t just show, but tend to accumulate grime that builds up from one month to the next.
There are chips showing within the glass. In the same way, chips missing from your glass countertops don’t look great, and can be a sign of deeper damage. Because glass countertops are made with safety in mind, they will chip away instead of shattering, but it’s good to replace them before this happens.
They no longer match the style or decor of your room. One nice thing about glass countertops is that they tend to be very inexpensive. So, if the ones you have no longer suit your style, it’s easy enough to put them in storage and try out something different for a while.
Wondering whether we have glass countertops, or another product, that might help you spruce up a room in your home instantly? Why not stop by Calgary’s House of Mirrors and Glass the next time you have a few free minutes and see which items in our showroom inspire you most?
